In conjunction with our educational duties, Pocahontas Woods offers a complete design to delivery service for our clients, nationwide. Whether it is your idea built to your specifications, or a collaborative effort, our shop is capable of producing everything from a classic reproduction piece to a more current genre item.
All of our commissioned works are built under the supervision of our instructors and assistants. Our students gain an invaluable experience by seeing a project through from idea to completion. We also handle such things as installations from custom kitchens to regional libraries.
If you would rather build it yourself, taking advantage of our open shop is a way of doing this. After completing our safety program, you can reserve shop time at a fee of $18.00 per hour. Guidance from our instructors is free.
If you would prefer not to operate the machinery yourself, we can do your task for you . The fee for this is $32.00 per hour. If your needs include a large quantity of items such as craft inventory, we can price per unit.
The Open Shop is also another of our many educational features. Many working people in the region are busier during certain seasons, or the schedules do not lend themselves to one of our more formal programs. If you have a desire to improve your furniture design and construction skills, we will work out a custom plan and fee schedule for you.
