Equal Opportunity

At Pocohontas Woods, we strive to give each woodworker student an opportunity to learn and each woodworker artisan an opportunity to find the support they need through our facility. This includes providing access to our equipment to any handicapped individual so long as they can successfully complete a safety class.

We are very proud of our volunteer, Mike Hefner. Mike lost the use of his legs after an on-the-job accident. Through participating in the Pocahontas Woods facility, Mike has regained his sense of purpose and has provided Pocahontas Woods with a strong partner in our own development. Pochontas Woods was fortunate to receive a chair lift, donated by the Christopher Reeve Foundation, to help Mike access the 2nd level of our workshop. Our dedication to Mike is equal to his dedication to us.

Let us help you regain your sense of purpose. Contact us today for information on our woodworking classes.
